I'm Lauren, a homeschool mom of three in Fort Worth and the person behind Crunchy Mama DFW.

I started this site because I was constantly looking for things to do with my own kids. Field trips, homeschool days, classes, random events that could turn into a learning experience. The problem was the information was everywhere. I was checking Facebook, library calendars, city websites, Instagram, and whatever else I could find just to figure out what was happening that week.

Eventually I thought, if I'm already doing all of this research for my own family, I might as well share it.

That's really how Crunchy Mama DFW started.

I've been putting together homeschool event lists since 2022, and it's grown a lot since then. Now I share the DFW Homeschool Do List, field trip ideas, seasonal guides, homeschool resources, and plenty of things we've actually gone out and tried ourselves.

And yes, I really do check the listings. I check dates, prices, registration links, and all the little details because I know how annoying it is to plan your day around something only to find out the information was wrong or outdated.

You'll also see pieces of our actual homeschool here. I have three kids who learn differently, so I'm always adjusting, trying something new, dropping something that isn't working, and figuring things out as we go. I'm definitely not here to tell anyone there's one right way to homeschool. There isn't. I just want to make it a little easier for other families to find what works for them.

At this point, my kids know that if we go somewhere new, there's a pretty good chance I'm taking pictures, asking questions, checking prices, and coming home to tell y'all whether it's worth adding to your list.

Basically, if there's something good happening for homeschool families around DFW, I want us to know about it.
